Foundation In Equine Exercise Rehabilitation

This course covers the underlying principles of exercise rehabilitation; the foundation exercises and the protocols used to develop and manage the exercise rehabilitation plan.

Entry Requirements
Level 3 or above in an equine musculoskeletal therapy or Level 3 Certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Learners are expected to have a certain amount of prior knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and general physiology of horses. Learners will also need access to cases for course work so should be a working therapist or in employment/ volunteer position at either a veterinary practice or a rehabilitation centre.

Learning Delivery & Time Allocation
This course is delivered online so can be studied from anywhere in the world. Learners can start the course at any time and study at their own pace. The course comprises 150 hours of learning. An average study time of 10/15 hours per week will lead to completion in 10/15 weeks. However, the learner can take up to a year to complete the course. The learning time comprises studying course material, completing tasks, carrying out further reading and own research, and completion of the assessment.

Assessment
Assessment tasks and activities are taken throughout the course with a final question paper for graded assessment.

Learner Support
Study is independent, however learners have access to discussion forums where they can connect with their fellow students – and this is encouraged. Learners are also assigned a tutor, who will be available for help if and when it is needed.

CPD Hours
On completion of this course, a certificate of 150 hours of continued professional development will be issued.

Endorsement
This course is endorsed (as a unit of the Diploma) under the quality licence scheme by two nationally, recognised awarding organisations: ABC Awards’ and Certa. This means that Animal Rehabilitation & Health Academy has undergone external quality checks to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria. The endorsement process with ABC Awards’ and Certa involves robust and rigorous quality audits by external auditors to ensure quality is continually met. A review of courses, including appropriate outcomes and benchmarking, is carried out as part of the continuing endorsement process.

Fees
The fees for this course are £499 + VAT to be paid by bank transfer. This course is one of four units of the Diploma in Equine Exercise Rehabilitation. There is a discount of £196 available if all four units are purchased together. To indicate you would like to study the full Diploma, check all four units on the application form.

Applicants should complete and submit the application form. Send a copy of a valid certificate to demonstrate that the entry criteria is met, to: admin@animalrehabhealth.academy with a covering email which includes the learners name as it is given on the application form. We will then contact you with an invoice and joining instructions.
