Veterinary nurse caring for a dog

Who is this course for?

If you are a Veterinary Nurse working in a small animal practice who wants to learn more about physiotherapy and rehabilitation for small animals then this course is for you. Whether you:

Have no experience of physiotherapy and rehabilitation but have an interest in learning what it is all about.

OR

Have some experience of physiotherapy and rehabilitation but want to go more in depth on how you can use therapy in your daily practice.

Our bitesized CPD will walk you through the pillars of physiotherapy and rehabilitation for small animals and demonstrate the benefits of providing a rehabilitation service at your practice.

What our students have to say.....

You are SO important in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients

As a Veterinary Nurse you are ideally positioned to provide early physiotherapy treatment to the postoperative patient. In many cases, for best results, physiotherapy should start immediately after surgery or even before. Following the early stages of recovery, the rehabilitation programme can begin. The addition of tailored exercise prescription to the post operative care regime will see improved case outcomes and client satisfaction.

This CPD will provide an overview of the subject of physiotherapy and rehabilitation in the small animal veterinary practice and tips and advice about how to manage patients with various conditions. The final lesson in this CPD will consider the options open to those of you who would like to develop your skills and knowledge in this area and we will give advice on how to open a rehabilitation clinic at your practice.

Like you, I am dedicated to the wellbeing of animals. There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when you can provide the way forward for a dog who has broken down on the road to recovery. So much of the pain and suffering seen in dogs comes from their musculoskeletal system and I am so grateful that I have the knowledge and skills to help them.

Quick points about me:

My mission for the last 18 years has been to share my knowledge and skills far and wide, so that many more dogs can reap the benefits of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.  Thank you for helping me! Read more about Katie.
